I. TikTok Shop’s 2026 “6·6” Mega Sale is About to Begin, with Exclusive Policies for New Merchants
TikTok Shop’s “6·6” Mega Sale will run from June 3 to June 8, 2026 (Malaysia). As a mid-year mega sale driven by a triple combination of accumulated traffic, subsidy policies, and final conversions, it will serve as a key growth opportunity in the second quarter.
In June, seasonal changes in Southeast Asia drive a surge in essential consumption, which, combined with the payday cycle at the end of the month and the beginning of the next, creates an optimal environment for conversions.
For new sellers, this is the best time to enter the market in the first half of the year and the fastest path to quickly establish a store. Unlike regular sales periods, where orders require long-term accumulation, during major sales events, platform traffic is concentrated and user purchasing intent is strong, making the probability of new stores successfully completing their cold start significantly higher than usual.
II. Shopee’s Singapore and Malaysia Sites Introduce Service Fees for Pre-Order Items and Relax the Upper Limit on Pre-Order Product Ratios
Shopee announced that, effective June 1, 2026, it will adjust its pre-order product policies for the Singapore and Malaysia sites by introducing a service fee mechanism for pre-order items.
Specifically, cross-border sellers in Singapore will be charged a 3% service fee (including tax), while the rate for cross-border sellers in Malaysia is slightly lower at 2.16% (including tax). These fees apply only to the value of pre-sale products from completed orders.
Concurrently, the maximum allowed proportion of pre-sale products for Marketplace and Premium sellers on the Singapore site has been expanded to ≤20%, and to ≤10% on the Malaysia site, providing sellers with greater flexibility in managing pre-sale inventory.
There are no fees for order cancellations or full refunds. Certain product categories are automatically exempt from fees, and merchants relying on the pre-sale model for customized products may contact customer service to apply for long-term or temporary exemptions.
III. Lazada Malaysia Launches the “6.6” Mega Sale
Under the theme of helping consumers “buy better, not cheaper,” Lazada Malaysia has kicked off its “6.6” Mega Sale, signaling a shift in the platform’s competitive focus toward “trust” and “quality.” Lazada noted that consumers are increasingly seeking valuable, authentic, and high-quality products. To this end, by introducing AI agents and leveraging Alibaba’s AI ecosystem, Lazada helps consumers compare products, discover suitable items, and make purchasing decisions more quickly during major online events.
During the 6.6 event, Lazada will also offer a range of exclusive benefits, including coupons, LazFlash discounts, additional store coupons, surprise offers, and rewards through LazCoins.
